Woman Strangled to Death in Alhambra

Alhambra , CA United States

In the early hours of Saturday morning, a 31-year-old woman, Shi Donglei, was found dead in Story Park. Coroners officials have confirmed that strangling was the cause of death, according to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune. Donglei, a San Gabriel Valley resident, was found at 4:30 in the morning Saturday.

Authorities urged anyone with information regarding this murder to contact Sheriff’s Homicide Detectives at (323) 890-5500.

Her death brings the possible homicide total in the past month to five. Earlier last week a couple and their six-month-old son were found dead at their home near Almansor Park in a possible murder-suicide. And, according to the LA Times, “Jesus Pamplona, a 43-year-old Latino, died Tuesday, March 30, six days after sustaining blunt force trauma while at the corner of Curtis and Commonwealth avenues in Alhambra.” The rash of deaths follows follows more than 20 months without a single homicide.
