A tree on the westbound side of Valley Boulevard and Garfield Avenue in Alhambra fell Thursday evening and hit a car parking on the street, World Journal (世界日報) reports. The car was damaged and police closed a part of Valley to cut and remove the tree.
A witness told the Chinese publication that the tree’s roots were already partially above the ground, which caused the tree to fall even without wind or rain.
Residents who notice trees in Alhambra that may be dangerous or in need of maintenance can call the Alhambra Public Works Department at 626-570-5067.
