The San Gabriel Valley Pride Festival is not your ordinary Pride event.
The goal of SGV Pride, which takes place all day on Saturday, Oct. 13, aims to create more “engaged interaction,” when it comes to celebrating San Gabriel Valley’s LGBT community.
“Our goal is to foster awareness of community history and heritage, issues, services and opportunities for all genders and generations of the LGBTQ community in the San Gabriel Valley,” the SGV Pride organization said in a press release.
The festival will kick off at 11 a.m. with an interfaith service and will feature a classic car show, book signings, a STEM area and the exhibit “Portraits of Pride,” which hung in Los Angeles City Hall this past June. An exhibit will also honor the late San Gabriel Valley-based artist Laura Aguilar and will feature a fundraising croquet match and a drag show starring “Little House on the Prairie” actress Alison Arngrim.
There will also be areas of the festival devoted to family, health and wellness.
This event is free to the public. Alhambra Source is a media partner.
