Alhambra’s Fremont Elementary School recently received funding from Whole Foods Market to revitalize a vegetable garden at their school. They built this garden as part of the American Heart Association’s Teaching Gardens program. Students planted beets, bok choy, carrots and other vegetables on Friday, Oct. 13 as part of the program. The purpose of the teaching garden is to teach children about nutrition and where their food comes from. Enjoy the photos!
