Alhambra , CA United States

At 7 p.m., the Alhambra City Council will consider an ordinance changing the Development Services Department’s name to the Community Development Department and the Community Services Department to the Parks and Recreation Department. The City Council agenda says that most other L.A. County cities use Community Development and Parks and Recreation. The staff report has more details about the proposed changes and the departments’ roles and responsibilities.

The City Council will also present certificates to outgoing commission members and proclaim April 25, 2018 as Denim Day for Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

The consent agenda includes a notice of completion for the Almansor Park Improvements Project and the creation of a Legislative Platform, which allows the city manager’s office to track legislation that requires the City Council to take a position on and to coordinate such a response.
