City Council Agenda: Marengo Ave development and the lawn bowlers speak again

This post will be updated throughout the weekend as more information about Monday’s City Council meeting becomes available.

The Camellia Court development is back on the Alhambra City Council agenda on Monday, August 14th at 7 pm. The Council will consider final approval of a general plan and zone change to allow the project to include retail as part of the Valley Boulevard Specific Plan. The City Council also has final approval over the environmental studies conducted for the project. These documents that had had recently fallen under scrutiny, especially concerning the fate of 268 trees on the property, as well as a historic church.

The Alhambra Bowls Club will also speak at the City Council meeting, regarding a dispute over expected repairs to their lawn bowling court. Readers will recall that the Alhambra Bowls Club successfully protested after city officials announced plans to replace their court with a 400-car parking structure.
