At their meeting on Monday at 7 p.m., the Alhambra City Council will consider the first reading of an ordinance to amend the city charter’s sections on accepting federal grants for consulting and professional services to comply with new rules from federal Office of Management and Budget. These changes would include raising the threshold for purchase orders that must be approved by the director of finance from $1,000 to $3,500.

The consent agenda includes the purchase of two compressed natural gas vehicles for the Alhambra Community Transit line, as well as the award of an engineering contract for the Valley Boulevard Pedestrian Improvements project. The Alhambra Police Department is also set to accept a $272,000 from the Office of Traffic Safety for a Selective Traffic Enforcement Program.
