At 5:30 pm, the Alhambra City Council will hear a presentation on purchasing electricity from a local energy source called Los Angeles Community Choice Energy. Doing so would potentially provide greener energy to Alhambra residents.

The 7 pm session includes a second reading of an ordinance to allow Atherton Baptist Homes to amend its plan for building additional homes at its retirement community. The city council will also consider final approval allowing city workers to apply their unused sick leave towards retirement benefits.

Four-year-old Sophia De Leon Aleman will receive a commendation, while the Alhambra police department’s Sergeant Gerald Johnson and Senior Officer John Stone and the fire department’s Assistant Fire Chief Raymond Mosack will receive recognition for their service.
