Alhambra , CA United StatesA $10,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of any suspects involved in the murder of Alhambra’s Xiuxia “Michelle” Chen.
Chen was working as a manager at the Ambassador Inn on June 2, 2017, when a male suspect shot and killed her while committing a robbery, according to yesterday’s Alhambra City Council meeting agenda. The city council voted unanimously to authorize this reward.
Chen’s son, Armando Chen Escandor Jr., described her as a person who always gave a lasting impression and was generous with everyone. “She was not one to hesitate because you’re a stranger,” said Escandor, 21. He added that finding justice for her was his family’s highest priority.
Anybody with information is encouraged to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Division at (323) 890-5500. People can also help Chen’s family pay for her memorial service at this GoFundMe page.
