Readers talk gay marriage

We asked readers how they felt about the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to take down a section of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and legalize gay marriage in California by ruling that the case in support of Proposition 8 had no legal standing.

In comments on Facebook, Twitter, and our story as well as in anonymous responses to our poll, many readers agreed with the DOMA and Prop 8 rulings and said that Alhambra needs to do more to support its gay and lesbian residents. Others argued that marriage is between a man and woman and said the city does not have a specific responsibility to gay residents. Read their comments below and let us know what you think.
