Professional athletes tour AUSD to fight bullying
Professional athletes toured Alhambra Unified School District last Tuesday, Jan. 15, to sign autographs and take photos with students, teachers, and staff. Former National Football League players Mike Lansford, Vince Ferragamo, and Greg Townsend, as well as former Major League Baseball player Steve Yeager, were part of the final days of an anti-bullying campaign run by Gateway to Success, the district's mental health and student safety program.
Lansford (main image, back) and Ferragamo (main image, front) visited eight schools, including Alhambra High School (pictured), while Townsend and Yeager visited seven. These professional athletes have been part of Gateway to Success's anti-bullying program since it kicked off in October.
