Presentation on the HOPE program's progress at Tuesday's Alhambra Unified board meeting

During Tuesday night's Alhambra Unified School District's Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Laura Tellez-Gagliano will recognize the San Gabriel Valley New Generation Rotary for its monetary donation toward the mini-grant awards to the teachers of the Alhambra Unified School District.

The March 14 agenda states that the Board of Education will also vote on whether to approve a contract with the Department of General Services for synthetic turf, surface and flooring products.

In addition, the staff requests that the Board of Education reviews and updates its School Safety Plan, which must have policies related to crime, safety, child abuse reporting procedures, disaster preparedness, emergency shelters, discrimination, harassment, intimidation, bullying, hate crimes and toxic substances.

A presention on the HOPE program's progress will also occur during Tuesday's board meeting. The HOPE program assists students that don't have access to adequate shelter by helping them enroll in school and providing immunizations and transportation.
