Reporter Corps trained young adults in journalistic ethics and practice, multimedia storytelling skills, and how their local government works so that they can report on their own community. Participants published stories on Alhambra Source and received training and support from professional journalists and researchers. Reporter Corps was made possible with the support of USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism and the McCormick Foundation.
The Youth Feed was a high school journalism program the Source ran to train youth in fundamental skills and explore multimedia storytelling about Alhambra. Students experimented with writing, photography, and video. They reported on the parks system, race relations, and the achievement gap.
Alhambra Source continues to seek ways to engage with community youth. If you’re interested in participating or helping us with these efforts please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
