Parking enforcement in Alhambra suspended over Thanksgiving holiday

The Alhambra Police Department will suspend all parking enforcement over Thanksgiving weekend, according to a post on the agency's Facebook page. Starting Thursday at 2 a.m., residents will not need to purchase overnight parking permits or move their car for street sweeping. Enforcement will resume on Monday at 2 a.m.

The police department also reminded residents to "buckle up" this Thanksgiving. “The risk of being involved in a serious or deadly car crash increases when the number of cars on the road increases, and the long Thanksgiving weekend is one of the busiest travel times of the year,” said Alhambra Lt. Jennifer Wiese in a Nov. 19 press release. “So we want to remind everyone that your seat belts can save your life – and those you are traveling with.”

Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!
