Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability (LOHAS), an organization that promotes healthy and eco-friendly living, will present Monday to Alhambra City Council a plan to open an organic market at Alhambra Pacific Plaza, the former site of Super A Foods. LOHAS's proposal also includes a small pharmacy and gourmet cooking classes, according to the City Council agenda.
LOHAS promotes eco-friendly business practices and products in a movement it calls “natural capitalism” — an emphasis on the connection between human-made capital and the environment.
Alhambra Pacific Plaza will include 18,000 square feet of commercial space and 120 residential units, according to the Alhambra city website. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2014.
City Council meets every second and fourth Monday of the month at 5:30 and 7 p.m. at City Hall. Read the complete agenda below. You can also download the document or make it larger using the controls on the bottom.
