Organic, eco-friendly market to possibly replace Super A

Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability (LOHAS), an organization that promotes healthy and eco-friendly living, will present Monday to Alhambra City Council a plan to open an organic market at Alhambra Pacific Plaza, the former site of Super A Foods. LOHAS's proposal also includes a small pharmacy and gourmet cooking classes, according to the City Council agenda.

LOHAS promotes eco-friendly business practices and products in a movement it calls “natural capitalism” — an emphasis on the connection between human-made capital and the environment.

Alhambra Pacific Plaza will include 18,000 square feet of commercial space and 120 residential units, according to the Alhambra city websiteConstruction is expected to be completed by the end of 2014.
