On the agenda: Fast food and more trees

Alhambra City Council meets Tuesday night and city staff will present an update on a commercial development at Date and Commonwealth avenues. CFT Developers would like to purchase a city-owned property on the south side of Commonwealth just east of Date. The company already owns land east and west of the parcel and would like to consolidate the property to create a new retail and restaurant development, including two nationally known fast-food chains.

Council will also vote to accept a grant from the 2012 Competitive Tree Planting Grant Program in the amount of $60,000. The grant will go toward removing damaged trees and planting 137 new ones.

City Council is meeting on Tuesday due to the Veterans Day holiday. It generally meets every second and fourth Monday of the month. Read the complete agenda below. You can also download or make it larger using the controls at the bottom.
