On the agenda: Energy efficiency financing for Alhambra homeowners

Alhambra City Council will review Monday evening a resolution to be included in the California Home Energy Renovation Opportunity (HERO), a homeowner financing program for energy and water efficient products and energy systems. The HERO program — funded by bonds from the Western Riverside Council of Governments — would finance eligible products for 5-20 years at a fixed interest rate for any homeowner in Alhambra. Participation in the program is voluntary.

Council will also vote whether to excuse Councilman Stephen Sham from council meetings starting Sept. 9 and ending Oct. 14 for business reasons. The Alhambra City Charter says that a member of any council will lose his or her seat if he or she fails to attend meetings for an extended period "(i.e., 30 consecutive days)" without being excused.

City Council meets every second and fourth Monday of the month at 5:30 and 7 p.m. at City Hall. Read the complete agenda below. You can also download the document or make it larger using the controls on the bottom.
