On the agenda: Alhambra Fire Department to receive grant for 9/11 memorial

Alhambra Mayor Dr. Steven Placido  and Alhambra Firefighters Association President Arnold Furr will accept Monday a $25,000 grant from the San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District to install a water-efficient irrigation system and drought-resistant plants at the fire department's 9/11 memorial. Initial designs for the memorial — which will be built by Scarlett's Landscape for $45,000 — include a piece of structural steel from the frame of the World Trade Center. It will be placed in front of Fire Station 71 at First Street and Woodward Avenue.

City Council meets every second and fourth Monday of the month at 5:30 and 7 p.m. at City Hall. Read the complete agenda below. You can also download the document or make it larger using the controls on the bottom.
