On the agenda: $130,000 for Alhambra Rose Parade float

Alhambra City Council will vote Monday whether to allocate $130,000 from public art funds for the construction of a city float in the 2015 Rose Parade. If approved, the city will spend $5,000 on a sponsor fee and $125,000 to construct, decorate, and operate the float.

Alhambra's 2014 Rose Parade float cost $90,000 and featured a red monster truck with yellow flames and monster riders. The theme for this year's float has not yet been announced.
