An elderly couple faced burglars Wednesday night in the hallway of their Alhambra home.
Two unidentified men broke into a home on the 2300 block of Charnwood Avenue around 9:30 p.m., said Sgt. Jerry Johnson in a press release from the Alhambra Police Department. The male resident confronted the suspects and they fled the scene. No one was injured in the incident.
The couple told Alhambra police they were watching television in the bedroom when the break-in occurred. The male resident walked out of the bedroom and saw an unknown man in his home.
"The victim asked the suspect, 'Who are you?'" Johnson said. "The suspect said nothing and pushed the victim to the floor."
A second suspect appeared and both fled.
The suspects may have entered through an unlocked sliding glass door, according to Johnson. Police have not released details of stolen property or evidence as the incident is still under investigation.
The first suspect is described as an African American male, 6’ 4” tall with a medium build, and wearing a black T-shirt. The second suspect is a male with no further description.
Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the Alhambra Police Department at (626) 570-5151.
