Meet Tootsie, a Chihuahua, at the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society

Alhambra Source partnered with the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society for a weekly column, "Pet of the Week." Every Thursday, we'll introduce you to a new animal looking for a home. This week's pet is Tootsie, a Chihuahua. Read more about Tootsie below!

Name: Tootsie
ID: 17068
Gender: Female
Breed: Chihuahua
Age: 3 years
Weight: 7 pounds
Fur: Short, black

Tootsie is a lovable 3-year-old Chihuahua girl, weighing about 7 pounds.  She has a short coat of shiny black fur that is very easy to care for. She came to the shelter as a stray dog, and no one has come to claim her.

Tootsie has a calm and loving nature, and likes nothing better than to sit on a lap and cuddle. She is very affectionate, is quite friendly, and loves people.

Tootsie gets along well with her kennel mate, and can be quite playful as well. She is easy to harness and enjoys going for walks.  Her energy level is calm to medium, and with her small size she is quite easy to manage on leash.

Tootsie would make a wonderful, loving addition to a family that can give her the security and attention she needs. Her friendly personality and mellow disposition would make her adaptable to many households. If you are looking for a sweet, petite girl to share your home, please come in to meet Tootsie. She is sure to win your heart!

Her adoption fee is $120 which includes her spay surgery, a microchip, first vaccinations and a free wellness check-up at a participating veterinarian.

If you are interested in meeting Tootsie or any of the other available animals at the shelter, visit the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society at 851 E. Grand Ave., San Gabriel, Calif.  91776.  It is open 10:00am to 4:30pm Tuesday through Sunday.  For more information, call (626) 286-1159, or see our website at www.sgvhumane.org.
