Meet Tank at the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society

Alhambra Source partnered with the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society for a weekly column, "Pet of the Week." Every week we'll introduce you to a new animal looking for a home. This week's pet is Tank, a American Staffordshire terrier mix. Read more about Tank below!

Name: Tank
ID: 20572
Gender: Male
Breed: American Staffordshire terrier mix
Age: 5 years
Weight: 65 pounds
Fur: Champagne and white

Tank is a lovable five-year-old Staffordshire mix with strapping good looks and a laid back personality. He has a gorgeous champagne-and-white coat that perfectly compliments his amber eyes and pinkish button-nose.

Tank lives up to his name as he is more of a love-machine than anything else. He is also very smart because he has quickly learned his "sit" and "shake" commands and he can actually shake with both paws! Tank enjoys spending time going on walks, playing with toys, and hanging out with his human friends. He also loves to roll on the ground and offer up his belly for gentle belly scratches. He has no reservations about offering up his belly to anyone, anywhere, at anytime for much-deserved belly rubs! He also enjoys playing dress up and getting festive with costumes.

Tank, like many other dogs, came to the shelter after being surrendered by his owners with nothing but a heavy chain around his neck. He would much rather wear sunglasses and a hat. He is a big boy with a big heart who is looking for that special forever home that can appreciate his clownish personality and goofy antics. See Tank in action here

If you are that special family, please stop by to meet this lovable guy who will most likely be belly up already! His adoption fee is $145 and includes neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchip and a free wellness exam at a participating veterinarian. Feel free to call us at (626) 286-1159 for more information on Tank.

The San Gabriel Valley Humane Society is located at 851 E. Grand Avenue in San Gabriel. We are off San Gabriel Blvd, north of Mission and south of Las Tunas Drive. To arrange a “Meet and Greet” with Tank, please stop by any time from 10:30am to 4:30pm Tuesday through Sunday. See our website at www.sgvhumane.org for information and photos of all our wonderful pets.

We are always looking for hard working, dedicated animal lovers to join our team to fulfill our goal of “Putting People and Pets Together.” If you have what it takes to succeed in our life-saving work, we want to meet you!  Check out our employment opportunities here.

The San Gabriel Valley Humane Society 2016 calendars are available at the shelter for a $10 donation.  The photos were selected among hundreds submitted by shelter supporters. If you would like to order a 2016 calendar, you can stop by the shelter or do so online through PayPal. Go to the shelter website at sgvhumane.org for more information.
