Alhambra Source partnered with the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society for a weekly column, "Pet of the Week." Every Thursday, we'll introduce you to a new animal looking for a home. This week's pet is Sylvester, a male miniature pinscher mix. Read more about Sylvester below!
Breed: Miniature pinscher mix
Age: 5 years
Weight: 12 pounds
Fur: Black with white trim on chest
Sylvester, a miniature pinscher mix, is a smart boy with a happy energy that is contagious and will put a smile on your face when you spend time with him. He loves going for walks, but he also might just jump onto your lap and give you kisses if he has the chance. He enjoys the company of people, and gets along well with other dogs. He has had many kennel mates during his time at the shelter, and he seems to have the magic touch that helps his buddies get adopted.
Sylvester’s signature move is the “stretch and crawl” that he will be happy to show you. When he goes for a walk and gets to a grassy area, he stretches out on his belly and does a belly crawl for several feet. He has learned that many people find this amusing, and he will do it on command.
He would be a good companion for an individual, couple, or family, and would do well with another dog in the home. He loves his exercise and would be very happy to help his family with their New Year’s resolution to "exercise more!"
He currently resides at the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society located at 851 E. Grand Avenue in San Gabriel with his roommate. We are located off San Gabriel Blvd., north of Mission and south of Las Tunas. To arrange a meet-and-greet with Sylvester, please stop by any time from 10:00AM to 4:30PM Tuesday through Sunday.
His adoption fee is $120, which includes his neuter surgery, a microchip, first vaccinations, and a free wellness check-up at a participating veterinarian. Feel free to call us at (626) 286-1159 for more information on Sylvester.
