Meet Sherbert the Chihuahua mix at the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society

Alhambra Source partnered with the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society for a weekly column, "Pet of the week." Every Thursday, we'll introduce you to a new animal looking for a home. This week's pet is Sherbert, a male Chihuahua mix. Read more about Sherbert below!

Name: SherbertID: 5079Gender: MaleBreed: Chihuahua mixAge: 7-8 monthsWeight: 7.5 pounds Fur: Short, cream and white colored

Sherbert is a love bug with large unique ears and an adorable, expressive face. He is a very intelligent puppy and would be easily trained, as he reads people well and learns things quickly. He loves spending time playing and socializing with other dogs. He would be very happy to have a pal at home or a busy social life with neighboring playmates, but his best friend will always be you.

Sherbert's adoption fee is $120, which includes his neuter surgery, a microchip, first vaccinations, and a free wellness checkup with a participating veterinarian.

If you are interested in meeting Sherbert or any of the other available animals at the shelter, visit the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society at 851 E. Grand Ave., San Gabriel, Calif. 91776, Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. For more information, call (626) 286-1159.

Send the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society a photo of your pet and the furry member of your family could be part of the shelter's new calendar! If you have great pet photos and want to share, the SGVHS welcomes your submission for its first annual calendar contest. Email horizontal photos to sgvhscalendar@gmail.com. Tell your friends, family and coworkers — everyone is invited to compete! Submission deadline is June 30, 2014.
