Meet Levi at the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society

Alhambra Source partnered with the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society for a weekly column, "Pet of the Week." Every Thursday, we'll introduce you to a new animal looking for a home. This week's pet is Levi, a pinscher mix. Read more about Levi below!
Name: Levi
ID: 18522
Gender: Male
Breed: Pinscher mix
Age: 6 months
Weight: 20 pounds
Fur: Black with tan markings
Levi is a rambunctious 6-month old medium-size Pinscher mix pup who came to the shelter as a stray after finding his way into a Rosemead resident's back yard. He had no identification to find his owner so he is now available for adoption.
Weighing about 20 pounds, he makes the perfect cradling-buddy…though he may enjoy that more in his later years. At the present time, Levi is as lovable as a bouncy puppy can be! Over the weeks he’s been at the shelter, he has blossomed into a fun-loving pup and has shown us his true playful and loving personality. He loves squeaky toys, playing fetch (though still learning!), and dancing on his hind legs while holding on to his humans’ hands. Levi’s dancing shenanigans are sure to make you smile even on a ruff day!
He’s learning to walk on a leash and harness and is doing well on his walks around the park. As with all young dogs, he would benefit from additional training and being the smart doggy that he is, he is sure to learn quickly. When he’s not walking and dancing around, he loves to surround himself with squeaky toys and tennis balls. He definitely finds happiness and entertainment in the simplest things in life and has much love to share. With his puppy-innocence and fun-loving outlook in life, Levi is looking for a loving and caring family to call his own.
His adoption fee is $130 which includes his neuter surgery, a microchip, first vaccinations and a free wellness check-up at a participating veterinarian.
If you are interested in meeting Levi or any of the other available animals at the shelter, visit the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society at 851 E. Grand Ave., San Gabriel.  We are open 10:00am to 4:30pm Tuesday through Sunday. For more information, call (626) 286-1159. See our website at www.sgvhumane.org for information and photos of all our wonderful pets.
You are invited to join the San Gabriel "Strut Your Mutt" dog walking team and the "Race for the Rescues" team to raise funds for shelter animals. The walk is Saturday, October 10th at Exposition Park and the race is Saturday, October 24th at the Rose Bowl. Go to the shelter’s website for more information and how to sign up!
