Meet Lenny the Chihuahua dachshund mix at the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society

Alhambra Source partnered with the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society for a weekly column, "Pet of the week." Every Thursday, we'll introduce you to a new animal looking for a home. This week's pet is Lenny, a male Chihuahua dachshund mix. Read more about Lenny below!

Name: Lenny  ID: 14737Gender: MaleBreed: Chihuahua dachshund mixAge: 7 yearsWeight: 10 poundsFur: Black with brown and white markings

Meet the charming Lenny! He is a friendly and calm dog who gets along well with his kennel mate and likes the company of other dogs. He enjoys going for walks and is easy to manage on leash. He loves exploring and sniffing around the park and getting to know the neighborhood. Lenny likes people, but he is not demanding for attention. Eager to please and waiting for a home for the holidays, he happily posed for the holiday photo above.

Lenny qualifies for our "Senior For Senior" reduced-fee adoption program.  What better way to celebrate "National Adopt a Senior Pet Month" than by bringing Lenny into your life? Older pets make wonderful family members. They are easy to train, fit in quickly, and don’t require the time and attention a young animal demands.

If you are interested in meeting Lenny or any of the other available animals at the shelter, visit the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society at 851 E. Grand Ave., San Gabriel, Calif. 91776, Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. For more information, call (626) 286-1159.

The San Gabriel Valley Humane Society is celebrating the holidays with reduced adoption fees for cats! If a cat or kitten is on your Christmas list, come to the shelter and adopt a cat for $25 through Dec. 25. Adoption fees include spay surgery, first vaccinations, a microchip, and a free wellness visit with a participating veterinarian.
