Meet Emily at the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society

Alhambra Source partnered with the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society for a weekly column, "Pet of the Week." Every week we'll introduce you to a new animal looking for a home. This week's pet is Emily, a Chihuahua mix. Read more about Emily below!

Name: Emily

ID: 21993

Gender: Female

Breed: Chihuahua mix

Age: 7 years

Weight: 12 pounds

Fur: Brown

Emily is a lovely girl who came to the shelter as a stray dog from San Gabriel.  She is a Chihuahua mix with a soft coat of brown fur that does not require much more care than a regular bath and brushing.  Emily weighs about 12 pounds. Although Emily is estimated to be a little over 7 years old, she has a medium energy level and is enthusiastic about going for a walk as often as she can. She is easy to harness and handle on the leash. Emily enjoys the company of other dogs and can be quite playful at times, even engaging in a friendly game of tug-o-war with her kennel mate when they are interested in the same toy. Emily seems to love people, too, and will happily cuddle up for pets, massages, and belly rubs.

Emily is a friendly, social girl who would make a loving companion for a person, couple, or family of any age. Emily wants to be part of the family with a soft bed at night, and a yard where she can play during the day. She would enjoy having another dog as a playmate, although she could be happy as the only dog in the home as well. This sweet girl deserves a good home, and has much love and loyalty to share in return.  Come and meet her in person – her charm just might melt your heart. Her adoption fee is $130, which includes spay surgery, a microchip, first vaccinations and a free wellness check-up at a participating veterinarian.

The San Gabriel Valley Humane Society is located at 851 E. Grand Avenue in San Gabriel.  We are off San Gabriel Blvd, north of Mission and south of Las Tunas Drive. To arrange a ‘Meet and Greet’ with Emily, please stop by any time from 10:30am to 4:30pm Tuesday through Sunday. See our website at www.sgvhumane.org for information and photos of all our wonderful pets.
