Alhambra Source partnered with the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society for a weekly column, "Pet of the Week." Every Thursday, we'll introduce you to a new animal looking for a home. This week's pet is Elinor, a shepherd mix. Read more about Elinor below!
Breed: Shepherd mix
Age: 5 years
Weight: 97 pounds
Elinor is a German shepherd mix who is a funny and friendly lady. She is good on walks, knows her "sit" command, and has a "chatty" bark whenever her two-legged friends are chitchatting around her. Elinor is very amiable and responsive to her handler. She enjoys the attention of her human friends and would love to share walks and outings to the park with a loving family. She will make a great pet for a family looking to provide a safe home, food, and a warm bed for this sweet girl, who will in return love you forever. We hope you'll stop in to meet this lovely girl and consider making her an important part of your family!
In honor of St. Patrick, who lived to a ripe old age of 74 in 461A.D. we celebrate our senior pets for their wisdom, experience, adaptability, willingness to learn new tricks, and for easily loving and bonding with us. For the month of March, the adoption fee for all ‘senior’ pets five years and older is only $39 for all adopters.
This includes spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchip and a free wellness exam at a participating veterinarian.
If you are interested in meeting Asia or any of the other available animals at the shelter, visit the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society at 851 E. Grand Ave., San Gabriel, Calif., 91776, Tuesday through Sunday. For more information, call (626) 286-1159. Our website at www.sgvhumane.org will also have information and photos of all our wonderful pets.
