Meet Diesel at the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society

Alhambra Source partnered with the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society for a weekly column, "Pet of the Week." Every Thursday, we'll introduce you to a new animal looking for a home. This week's pet is Diesel, a Staffordshire terrier mix. Read more about Diesel below!
Name:  Diesel
ID: 17646
Gender: Male
Breed: American Staffordshire terrier mix
Age: 1 year
Weight: 71 pounds
Fur: Tan and brown
Diesel is a gorgeous Staffy mix pup with a gorgeous coat that would make Bambi jealous! Diesel came to the shelter as a stray from San Gabriel with no identification.
He sports a very striking coat that is golden fawn with small white spots and brown markings on his face that give him a very expressive look. Although his looks are very fetching, fetching isn’t Diesel’s thing. For a young pup, he enjoys long and steady walks, and given the opportunity, he would probably enjoy quiet hikes to appreciate and sniff the nature all around. Diesel’s young and silly side shows when he’s ready for a walk. He cannot help but tap-dance out of happiness—a move known as the Diesel-Double-Dip! He is quite a show stopper!
Diesel is strong, good on the leash, and definitely eager to learn and to be trained. Diesel would make a great walking, hiking, and chillin’ companion to a family who would love him and give him the forever home he deserves.
He currently resides at the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society located at 851 E. Grand Avenue in San Gabriel.  We are located off San Gabriel Boulevard, north of Mission and south of Las Tunas. To arrange a "Meet and Greet" with Diesel,  please stop by any time from 10:00am to 4:30pm Tuesday through Sunday. His adoption fee is $145 and includes neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchip and a free wellness exam at a participating veterinarian. Feel free to call us at (626) 286-1159 for more information on Diesel. See our website for information and photos of all our wonderful pets.
Readers are invited to join the San Gabriel "Strut Your Mutt" dog walking team and the "Race for the Rescues" team to raise funds for shelter animals. The Walk is Saturday, October 10th at Exposition Park and the Race is Saturday, October 24th at the Rose Bowl. Go to the shelter’s website for more information and how to sign up.
