Meet Chilly Willy at the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society

Alhambra Source partnered with the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society for a weekly column, "Pet of the Week." Every week we'll introduce you to a new animal looking for a home. This week's pet is Chilly Willy, a Chihuahua mix. Read more about Chilly Willy below!

Chilly Willy is a lovable Chihuahua mix with a sweet spirit and a gentle nature – and very long legs!  He has a short coat of brown fur with white highlights. Chilly Willy’s owner is moving out of the country, and had to surrender him to the shelter. Chilly was initially quite fearful and confused, not understanding how he lost his home and ended up in a kennel. Once he got to know a few friendly dogs and realized that the staff and volunteers wanted to make his stay with us happy and comfortable, he started to relax and got used to his new routine.  He now greets visitors with a wagging tail and is eager to go on walks to the park, or play in our play yard.

Chilly Willy walks well on the leash with an easygoing, calm energy.  He likes to sniff and explore his surroundings and he interacts well with other dogs he has met.  He enjoys the company of people and is happy to receive pets and cuddles.  When his head is stroked, he closes his eyes in peaceful enjoyment.  He also seems to be a smart dog, and already knows how to “sit” and “shake paws” on command.

Chilly Willy is a gentle soul who wants nothing more than a loving, secure home where he can be a part of the family.  When you meet Chilly Willy in person, his charm is sure to melt your heart.  If you think you can offer this sweet boy the home he deserves, he is eagerly waiting to meet you. His adoption fee is $130, which includes neuter surgery, a microchip, first vaccinations and a free wellness check-up at a participating veterinarian. Feel free to call us at (626) 286-1159 for more information on Chilly Willy.

The San Gabriel Valley Humane Society is located at 851 E. Grand Avenue in San Gabriel.  We are off San Gabriel Blvd, north of Mission and south of Las Tunas Drive. To arrange a ‘Meet and Greet’ with Chilly Willy, please stop by any time from 10:30am to 4:30pm Tuesday through Sunday. See our website at www.sgvhumane.org for information and photos of all our wonderful pets.
