Man sentenced for raping women he met at Alhambra cafe

Andrew Van Bui of Monterey Park was sentenced Thursday to 30 years to life for raping two women he met at an Alhambra cafe, the Pasadena Star-News reports

Bui, 27, befriended a 26-year-old woman in August 2013 while working at Honey Badger Cafe on Main Street, Deputy District Attorney Stephanie Chavez told the Star-News. The two exchanged phone numbers and text messages, and Bui invited her to his home, where he drugged and raped her, Chavez said. One week later, he invited a 22-year-old to his home, tried to drug the woman, and sexually assaulted her.
