Man charged with attempted murder following Alhambra stabbing

The Los Angeles County district attorney's office filed one count of attempted murder against Eric Gonsalo Hernandez, 23, for allegedly stabbing a man early Saturday on the 200 block of South Curtis Avenue, according to Sgt. Jerry Johnson.

Marco Antonio Beltran, 28, who was arrested Saturday along with Hernandez, was released due to insufficient evidence.

An altercation between Hernandez and the victim at a party on Curtis Avenue escalated into a physical fight and stabbing, Johnson said. A motive has not yet been identified.

An arraignment is scheduled for Jan. 22.
