Main Street repaving project delayed

The multimillion dollar repaving of Main Street is a few weeks behind schedule due to rain, according to a letter city officials sent out to businesses. Construction will next move to the segment between Palm Avenue and Atlantic Boulevard.

"The Main Street Rehabiliatation Project had unexpected rain delays the first week of October which have caused the City of Alhambra and All American Asphalt to reschedule paving," the Department of Public Works wrote in a letter sent out earlier this month to area businesses.

The initial dates for the section between Palm Avenue and Atlantic Boulevard would have begun on October 17. It's been rescheduled to November 7 to November 10 and is "tentative and subject to change."

Alhambra is working to avoid some of the problems that South Pasadena saw during recent work on Fair Oaks where some stores reportedly had to be closed during the construction.
