Mailboxes stolen from Alhambra post office

Two mailboxes were stolen Thursday morning in front of an Alhambra post office, ABC7 reports. The mailboxes were removed from the post office on Valley Boulevard and Benito Avenue and have since been replaced.

Alhambra residents were concerned over the federal crime. "I always like to put my mail here. Now, I don't trust to put my mail here. Now, I have to go inside of the post office," Julie Ruiz told ABC7.

The U.S. Postal Service recommends depositing mail in mailboxes before the posted pickup time, since these crimes — while rare — usually occur during the night or early morning, according to ABC7.
