It has been more than three weeks since the Taiwanese government started a massive recall of products tainted with a chemical called DEHP. While the Philippines, Canada and New Zealand have named the specific food items that have been contaminated, the US government has provided no information to retailers. The contaminated products that have entered the US primarily consist of juices, syrups and jams. A spokesperson from the Food and Drug Administration said that short-term exposure to DEHP does not lead to serious health complications.
