Political candidates compete for Asian Americans' votes

With the mid-term election approaching, political candidates in California are actively competing for votes from Asian Americans. Lt. Governor candidate Abel Maldonado, Attorney General candidate Steve Cooley and Senate candidate Carly Fiorina have already paid visits to Asian American communities in Southern California. California Governor candidate Meg Whiteman has put up commercials in both Mandarin and Cantonese in several Chinese-language TV channels, and sent out Chinese-language campaign advertisements to over 120,000 Chinese American households in California.
