Asian Americans have a long history in Alhambra, surrounding areas

"The history and Asian American studies instructor at Pasadena City College recalls how back in the 1980s white Alhambra residents complained that new immigrants from Vietnam were growing vegetables in their front yards – an early clash and cultures that seems quaint today."
