How to become a star on Snapchat and Instagram with the Alhambra Source!

The Alhambra Source would be nothing without its passionate community contributors. Whether you've written for us, or commented on our Facebook page and posts, we truly value your ideas and input. But in 2016, sharing stories and opinions isn't just about writing an article for a website. Instead, this is happening a lot more on platforms like Snapchat and Instagram, where people can take a picture or video, add some information and share it with their friends and followers in a matter of seconds.

So we're excited to invite you to our Oct. 19 workshop, "How to become a star on Snapchat and Instagram." You'll learn how to share important information and gain loyal followers by creating fun and valuable Snapchat and Instagram stories. USC digital journalism expert Amara Aguilar will be lending us her mobile journalism knowledge in leading this workshop.

This is also a good opportunity to meet your friendly Alhambra Source editors in person, and tell us any ways that you'd like to contribute to what we're doing. Perhaps you'll get as good as Alex Ortega, who shared great photos from MainFest Alhambra on our Instagram in real time. The possibilities are endless!

And yes, there will be free food and drinks.

Hope to see you there!

When: Wednesday, October 19, 6-8 PM

Where: Gallery Nucleus, 210 East Main Street, Alhambra, CA.

RSVP (and more info) at Eventbrite and on Facebook.

Follow us on Snapchat (@alhambra_source) and on Instagram (@alhambrasource).

  1. Do we have to know or be already in Snapshot or Instagram to attend this session? I know NOTHING about those websites and am a novice in computer things; interesting in attending, but I don’t want to be out of place because of my lack of knowledge of those webs.

    1. The workshop is beginner friendly. We invite you to attend! Please email us at editor@alhambrasource.org if you have any more questions.

    2. Hi Richard,

Not sure if you saw Karin's reply above. The workshop is definitely beginner-friendly, so please don't let that stop you from attending!

Let us know if you have any other questions.

      Thanks,

      Phoenix
