Hot! Hot! Hot! in the SGV

The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for the LA County mountains and Angeles National Forest, due to temperatures that are reaching into the hundreds today in the Alhambra area and could spell fire dangers for many of the surrounding areas.

The beginning of October brought "record breaking triple digit heat and single digit humidities to many inland areas," according to an advisory put out by the Weather Channel. "This in combination with locally gusty winds and very dry fuels will continue to bring high fire danger to much of the region today."

The warning will remain in effect until 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
