Three grenades were discovered in an Alhambra home on Thursday, causing an evacuation and investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Bomb Squad. In the afternoon, the Alhambra Police Department received a call from a local resident who said that in the process of cleaning out their home two hand grenades were found in the attic. The area was closed and eight residents in the immediate area were evacuated. The Alhambra Fire Department was on standby. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Bomb Squad investigated and determined that the grenades were inert, as well as an additional one discovered during a search of the residence. All of the grenades were taken by the bomb squad and disposed. No word yet on how the grenades ended up in the house.
