Gang member convicted of killing Alhambra businessman

A gang member was convicted Thursday of the shooting death an Alhambra resident in 2013, Pasadena Star News reports.

Xia Lin, 28, of San Gabriel, was found guilty of the first-degree murder of Qin Jin Fang, a 43-year-old Chinese restaurant owner. Lin, who is tied to an Asian criminal street gang, will be sentenced Dec 1 at Alhambra Superior Court, and is facing 50 years-to-life in state prison.

Lin shot the victim in a garage of a condominium complex on the 300 block of North Monterey Street on Sept 22, 2013. He fired three times at the head of the victim and two times in the chest using a .22-caliber handgun with a silencer attached, MyNews LA reports. The victim died at the scene. Lin was arrested shortly after the shooting.
