This little guy barely broke a sweat while hanging out in 100 degree weather outside the Midas auto services shop on Valley Boulevard. Named after his maker, Midas mechanic Arturo Reynaga, R-2-RO is built out of junk mufflers, brakes, and rims.
Midas manager Armando Lucero explains that they got bored one day and decided to do something with the junk lying around the shop. Now, people who pass by like to stop and take pictures with R-2-RO, he says.
Since making his debut a year ago, R-2-RO has lost some of his hair, which was made out of an old brush. A furry companion is even in the works for R-2-RO, Lucero says.
