Flash flood warning issued for parts of the San Gabriel Valley

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning due to strong rains and thunderstorms in the San Gabriel Mountains that began to spread throughout Los Angeles County, the SGV Tribune reports. The warning applies to the cities of Monterey Park, La Crescenta, La Canada Flintridge, Altradena, and Arcadia.

"At 2:45 p.m., Doppler radar indicated strong and nearly stationary thunderstorms producing rainfall rated in excess of one inch per hour across the San Gabriel Mountain and foothills," the warning states. "People in locations near the Station Fire burn area should be especially alert for flooding and debris flows."

The warning is to remain in effect until 4:45 p.m.
