Feeling hot hot hot: Heat alert issued for the San Gabriel Valley

The Los Angeles County Health Department issued Thursday a Heat Alert for L.A. and the San Gabriel Valley, CBS Los Angeles reports. The alert will be in place Friday and could be extended into the weekend if temperatures don't cool down.

The high for Alhambra is expected to be 99 degrees on Friday, 95 degrees on Saturday, and 93 degrees on Sunday, according to The Weather Channel. See the current forecast:

The Health Department recommends limiting sun exposure between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., drinking water, and resting in the shade if you are outdoors, according to CBS Los Angeles.
