'Father of the Bride' colonial house, for sale, charms the internet

The secret is out—Hollywood likes to film in Alhambra.

News of an Alhambran colonial house's possible sale made the rounds on the internet this month because it was a filming location for “Father of the Bride,” which stars Steven Martin and Kimberley Williams-Paisley. But the house might not be on the market for long. Accoridng to the LA Times, the listing price is just shy of $2 million.

The real estate platform, Compass, is now accepting backup offers for the “Father of the Bride” house.

The house used for the 1991 family comedy has four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. Although the film featured a Pasadena house as the front exterior, the iconic basketball scene was filmed at the similarly looking Alhambra house on 500 North Almansor Street.

Alhambra is listed 80 times as a filming location, according to IMDb, which is an increase of 27 times, since the Alhambra Source counted in 2013.

Perhaps your Alhambran home or business might be the next Hollywood filming location.

Contact Ann Gluck at [email protected] or call at 626-616-2310 to inquire about the listing.
