On August 3rd, the Planning Commission heard the developer’s proposal to demolish a historic 5-unit bungalow court and a historic Craftsman home to build 11 market rate condo units. The proposed development at 234 S. Marguerita and 237 S. Curtis was approved with the condition that “The applicant shall comply with the Housing Crisis Act (SB330)”.
The developer is now appealing to City Council to have SB330 removed so he does not have to provide any affordable housing units (a requirement of SB330) and so he can sell all 11 units at market rate.
