This season of the Mission Playhouse’s Silent Sundays series concludes with the two-strip Technicolor 1926 swashbuckling action adventure, ‘The Black Pirate’, starring the ‘King of Hollywood’ Douglas Fairbanks, June 2nd at 2:30pm!

Legendary for his stunt work, the film contains some of his most famous stunt sequences. Fairbanks plays a 17th century Spanish nobleman seeking revenge who joins the band of pirates responsible for his father’s death. Does he win the hearts of the entire crew or will he be discovered? What happens when a princess is on board a ship they capture? This tale on the high seas will keep you entertained from beginning to end!

Live accompaniment on the Playhouse’s 1924 Mighty Wurlitzer theater pipe organ will be provided by American Theatre Organ Society’s Organist of the Year (2012) Mark Herman.

This event is produced in partnership with the Los Angeles Theatre Organ Society, as part of the Mission Playhouse’s Community Engagement Program, Engage! Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at door, discounts for groups of 10+. Online/phone orders except group tickets are subject to additional fees and charges.
