I can vividly remember when I first heard the noise and smelled the smoke. To savor the experience, I kept the packaging.” – James McNulty
ABOUT THE EXHIBIT:
The Perfect Exposure Gallery proudly presents a new online exhibit from the private collection of Rene Chiara, which will showcase the fine art collection of James McNulty’s firework collages. By the age of 5 he began collecting firework labels by gathering remnants leftover from firework shows and later purchased them from stores and conventions. McNulty’s collection consists of rare and vintage firecracker art dating back to the mid-1800’; his collages made exclusively from these wrappers have been featured in numerous art galleries throughout the west including the Pacific Asia Museum in Pasadena, California and the Chinese Cultural Foundation in San Francisco. This one of a kind collection is made up of 26 handcrafted pieces that display his bright and colorful art – made from authentic firework wrappers. Selected pieces of the collection will be on display at the Perfect Exposure Gallery in the city of Alhambra.
