Disney Double Feature: Mulan & Cars

San Gabriel Mission Playhouse
320 South Mission Drive
San Gabriel , California 91776 United States

Visit the Mission Playhouse Sunday afternoon, March 24th for screenings of two animated Disney classics, Mulan at 1:00pm followed by Cars at 3:00pm. With themes of honor, friendship, and humility, these Oscar nominated films are perfect for the whole family.

Purchase a ticket to one film or see both for a discounted price.

When the Emperor calls for one man from each family to help defend the kingdom from invaders, Mulan secretly disguises herself as a boy to take the place of her ailing father. Accompanied by her tiny dragon sidekick, Mushu, Mulan becomes a warrior whose bravery helps save the Emperor and the empire. Based on the Chinese legend of Hua Mulan, the film is “vividly animated, with a bursting palette that evokes both the wintry grandeur and decorative splendor of ancient China” (ew.com).

In Cars, cocky rookie race car Lightning McQueen gets lost on his way to the Piston Cup championship, ending up in Radiator Springs, a sleepy town along Route 66. There, he meets a colorful cast of characters including Doc Hudson, Sally, Mater, Ramone, and Luigi where he realizes there’s more important things in life than winning races. “Fueled with plenty of humor, action, heartfelt drama… Cars is a high octane delight” (rollingstone.com).

Both films are rated G and are recommended for ages 5+ by Common Sense Media, a nonprofit that publishes independent ratings and reviews.

Tickets are $7 per film or see both films for $10.Purchase tickets in person by visiting the Playhouse Box Office Tuesdays/Thursdays 12:00pm-6:00pm or day of show starting one hour before the screening. Online/phone orders are subject to additional fees and charges.
