Read Across America, a free community event focused on providing a fun event for children and their families, will be held Saturday, April 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Alhambra Park. The second annual event is expected to draw 900 residents of Alhambra for live performances, free books and snacks.  The theme of this event is”You Can Read Anywhere,” which will be in evidence at a variety of reading stations. The goal of the host organization, the Alhambra Teachers Association in collaboration with  the Alhambra Unified School District and the Alhambra Educational Foundation, is to give each child in attendance at least two books to take with them. Alhambra Teacher’s Association is accepting donations of new or gently used books for TK-12th grade readers. Contact ataprestammyscorcia@gmail.com or call (626) 289-1933 to donate.
